The Customs Department has the authority to supervise the import, export and the transit of goods. Part of our duties include the levying and collection of import duties and excise.

With regards to this aspect and to ensure a pleasant vacation this summer, we ask all travelers to register their personal items through our Temporary Export (Tijdelijke Uitvoer) form.  This is only needed for items such as, laptops, cellphones, and tablets, etc. that were already purchased in Aruba or abroad in which import duties have been paid. These items must be registered prior to travel in order to prevent the charging of import duties on these items when arriving back.

Remember to register them timely in order for the form to be valid.
