The Customs Department would like to inform about certain that goods cannot be imported into Aruba from foreign countries, or only under strict restrictions.
These goods include:
- Drugs and medicines:
If a traveler wishes to bring medications, they must obtain an import permit from the Inspection for Medicinal Products Department. If these medications are for daily use, ask your doctor for a medical passport in order to indicate that the medications in your luggage are for personal use. Customs may perform a check-up. - Telecommunications equipment:
For certain electronic equipment an import permit is required from the Department of Telecommunications Business. These equipment consist of drones, telecommunications equipment, etc. - Meat and meat products:
For the import of meat or meat products an import permit is required from the Aruba Veterinary Service. Meat and meat products may only be imported from approved slaughterhouses in approved countries. - Plants:
For the import of plants, you must file the declaration and related invoices, health certificates, cargo bill, etc. at the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
If Customs discovers products that are prohibited by law to enter our island, they will be immediately confiscated. This may result in a fine. Therefore, we ask all travelers to take good note of this information. We work according to the laws in order to ensure the well-being of the community of Aruba.
